XF gets new donk
My trusty XF wagon motor has expired, only done 230 k which is unusual for them to wear so quickly, they normally go to 400k or more
Badly fuming . Strip down reveals badly worn No. 1 cyl. and the rest are worn too . New HM donk is on the way . It's a late 1987 XF with the electronic ignition advance computer . The motor geneology goes way back to the 1960's . Ford here designed a crossflow head for the classic 250 engine. The classic BOGAN car .... cheap but not nasty The auto transmission is the ubiquitous Borg-Warner 3 speed .. which goes back to the 1950's and was used in just about everything on wheels. MIKE

The tired 4.1..these later 250 motors were massively detuned with emission crap and a very mild cam was factory fitted . A very large aftermarket range of bits are available and you can really HOT these engines up .
