Default Where were the tarp frames stored

I was recently asked where the tarp frames on CMPs stored when not in use. After looking through drivers handbooks, manuals, etc I'm just not finding this information.

Were there actual fixed storage spaces or were they just stored as loose cargo in the body of the trucks?

See lots of photos of trucks with tarp remove and frames still in place, and lots of photos with no frame at all, but I don't remember seeing any with the tube supports stored away.

Cheers Phil

The 15cwt has an extra two loops at the front of the cargo box for #2 and #3 hoops. They would be brought forward to the no1 position.
I don't see any similar feature on my 3 ton.

If it was like the military today, they would pile them all on top of a sea container for a few years, then run them out to the dump. Then, when the truck is being re-issued, they would order all that stuff so the truck would be as per EIS. Hopefully the army was not quite as wasteful back then.

I have seen the same on C15TA's.

On some 3Ton trucks it seems a small cut was made in the top of the sidewalls, near the front of the body, so the bows could be placed there. Attached is the best picture showing this "mod" (?) I can find at the moment.

Good Day,

The Australian Holden built 15 CWT bodies had the same 3 loops at the front as per attached.

Cheers,
