Default sapper test

We'll see how smart our sapper is. Can you identify the full nomenclature of this vehicle and who it is currently assigned to?

Ah, that wouldn't be the M113A2 Mk1 DAREOD with the 265hp Detroit Diesel engine owned by 192 AEF would it? The same one we used to drive downtown to the Yorkshire Rose for lunch in?

(P.S., tell Mac that only a 041 would have a picture of a car for a pin up on the turret bulkhead!)

CHIMO! Derek.

I will give you partial marks. It's officially M113A2/EFT/CDN DAREOD, but you were close (close enough for shrapnel). Yes, it is the old 192 but it's not 041, rather 047. One of the old farts in temperate climate cadpat that came with it said it is the oldest one and is due for retirement. Unfortunately this usually means being a hard target rather that a Crown Asset item.

Bruce, I'm going to have to give you, and the boys from the EOD section part marks too. The EFT designation means External Fuel Tanks which any M113 which had been upgraded or built as such would have in their designation. The EFT in no way refers to the turret, it is a hull modification to improve buoyancy when swimming and gives greater internal stowage. Yes, I should have added the EFT, however, the MK1 I added to the designation refers to the turret and must be added to be complete and EXACT when describing a DAREOD.

CHIMO! Derek.
