Dodge D8A T212 info needed
Does anyone have a copy of Wheels and Tracks issue No. 1 . It has the article written by Bart V on the Dodge D8A 4X4 . A scanned copy would be great .
Also , any good pics of the D8A , I am writing a article on them for a club magazine . Thanks Mike

Good web site you have there . Do you know who has got the copy of that Chrysler Canada booklet on the T212 . It's a coloured booklet showing them on the test track at Windsor and on the assembly line . I have the booklet from somebodys post , but it's not clear enough to read it . Is it Gordon who has it ? C'mon you scottish person you own up . Mike

Dodge T212: 1/2 ton 4 x 4 116" wheelbase, Serial # 91,000,101 to 91,003,102, 1940-41 build.

David , looks like only 3001 were built , but , there should be more around today , only four or five are left . What happened to all the others . Blown up by Rommel ? I would really like to read the Bart V article on them in W&T No. 4 . Doesn't anyone have a scanner ? I have a poor quality pic of a T212 in Italy with a New Zealand army MP unit . A parts list I have for SM 5077 includes the T212 and many other Chrysler Canada built vehicles but its dated August 44 . Still searching Mike

S/M 2029
Mike, do you have any more information in the book about S/M 5007 please? The '5XXX' series was I thought not used for soft-skins...'2XXX' and '6XXX', with '1XXX' for armoured. It could have been a parts order???
The British trucks were part of S/M 2029 which also included the Chevrolet C8s. Z 4613111 to 4613593 ...British deliveries but there were Mid-East deliveries which were then allocated Mid-East area census numbers. I suspect that the NZEF trucks were Mid-East S/M 2029 deliveries that were then issued to forces in Egypt for the Libyan campaign. Were there any AIF D8As? I have a scanner and I think W&T # 4 so if you get stuck, I'll get stuck in for you.

I think you are correct , the manual is a partial parts list . here is the first page I have found one pic of D8A in Syria with the Aust 6th division , this is the only one I have found . Yes, I am stuck , that W&T D8a story will help me out , thanks . Mike

Interesting Supply Mech....
 The T212 and T222 are the smaller Canadian D8A 4 x 4 and D15 4 x 2 trucks we've discussed before. T112 (civilian model WC, 1941-up) and T116 (civilian model WD 20 and WD 21, 1941 up) are standard half and one ton 4 x 2. The 120" wheelbase T116 will be a pickup as that's all that was available on that chassis length, but the 133" T116 could be either a pickup or the panel van pictured. I've seen that image before in Vanderveen titled 'one ton panel van made for the Canadian army' or some such
