Default Vehicle Dumps....

I was digging through some of my old manual boxes and came across a post war catalogue from Premiere of Brighton...
They had tons of vehicles of all kinds..Canadian,Brit and US...and parts and rebuild service..They shipped all over the world..The catalogue is from 1950. Midsummer and is marked #58 so obviously was around for quite some time...
Any other pictures of vehicle dumps around and who knows about this company...Where is it now..??

hi guy's

...not quite vehicle dumps, but here are a few advertisements which will make you want to cry. they come from a rather large collection of popular mechanics, mechanix illistrated, and science and mechanics magazines i just enherited, all dating from the 1940's - 70's. some very interesting military related stuff in these!!

Default .45 ACP Webley?

Hi there

Check out the price and type of ammunition advertised.

Were Webley top-break revolvers made in .45 ACP?

I know they were made in .455 but would the rimless semi-auto rounds function in this handgun?

Steve

Default webley.45

Hi Steve.
To use that ammo in a revolver they used half moon clips that held 3 rounds each so that you used two clips the groove in the cartridge base fitted into the clip and that supported the round to enable the firing pin to strike and fire the primer.

Regards,
Ron,

The .455 Webley will accept .45 Colt ammo (not Auto) without need for half moon clips.

Boy, if I was siting on a pile of .45ACP and bought a Webley to use it up, I'd DEMAND my $14.95 back!

There are also numerous stories of .455s being readily available here in the 60s for 5 pounds as the ammo was so hard to come by.

Default 455 Webley

Hi Tony,
.45 Long Colt is too long for the Webley Mk 6Cylinder, we used to ream out the 1917 Smith& Wesson cylinders to take the Colt ammo as the webley was difficult to reload to get accurat resultsThe crimp on the case was critical to get the powder that we had in the late 50s to burn consistently
Also the Smith& wesson cylinder was longer and would take the long Colt cartridge with safety, we prefered the Smith & Wesson triple lock but they were very hard to come by in those days,To put a long Colt cartridge in the Mk Webley to much of the choke or throat had to be removed and this was not a safe practice, I have seen them sold in those days in Melbourne Gun Shops for 3 pound 10 Shillings, or 7 Dollars give or take a few cents,

Ron,
