Strange cmp
Hi All
My younger brother spends a few months a year north of Kalgoorlie WA doing some gold prospecting. He came across this unusual CMP and knowing I am involved in military vehicles he asked me if I knew what it may have been used for. Now I don't know much about CMP vehicles apart from what I have read and seen on MLU and I thought someone out in MLU land may be able to throw some light on it for me. It appears it may have been drastically modified as I can't think what it could have been used for. Cheers Tony

F60l
Looks like someone started out with a normal Ford F60L and constructed everything from the roof back. Looks quite interesting!

Will check
Quote:
Yes mate looks interesting. Next time my brother makes contact to let me know is co-ords and if OK I will ask him where he photographed it any anything he may know. We have an arrangement that he contacts me every week with his co-ords so if I don't hear from him I can send the authorities to his last location, this works as last year a brown snake got him which put him in the Kalgoorlie hospital for a while. But I digress, I will find out more about the CMP and advise. Cheers Tony

More information
Hi Keith
I made contact with my brother and asked him what he could recall about the CMP photos he sent me. He advised that In May last year he met a semi retired Homeopathic doctor and part time prospector, Christopher Long, from Perth WA, staying at the Ora Banda Caravan Park which is situated 70 Kilometres north of Kalgoorlie. He said the guy was driving the modified Ford CMP, which he had purchased in pretty much the condition as seen in the photographs. He had fitted a much larger and modern motor into it and decked out the rear compartment for camping. The previous owner had completely revamped the under carriage and fitted duel hydraulic *brakes. The sleeper cab is a complete "mock-up". My brother thinks the guy said he had bought the CMP in Perth. Cheers Tony
