Default British desert paint colours?

G`Day,
I`m working on a scale model of a Willys Jeep as used by the SAS in the desert and was wondering what colour would have been most likely been applied at the factory? Would it have started out yellow/tan or over sprayed? Also, in general, what colour was the original primer? Thanks for any advice!

Cheers! ~MERK

Merk,

All US-built vehicles were sprayed Olive Drab at the factory.
