How in the world did someone steal a carrier? It's not like someone could hop in and hot wire it and drive it off. Were these stored in a secluded place where someone or group of people drive in and make off with the vehicles?

No details yet, but as you suggest it was a secluded area and apparently they knew what they were lookin for, and how to do it. I expressed incredulity at it just as you did, however I guess where there is a will there's a way!

I can't remember who it happened to, but Ive heard where a carrier and trailer were stolen from the side of the Hwy. Trailer had a wheel problem so it was left at the side of the Hwy, they came back a short time later to find it was gone.

that was my thoughts Harry...this would be the worst end for the vehicle, being smelted away..... at least if it was stolen for export etc the machines would survive.....

the problem is the machine is not sellable its too unique so it has either to be stripped down or weighed in... i would do a directory search and inform all the scrap metal merchants i could about the vehicle, so they know to keep an eye out for it..

mind guys Chip Foose might have it and you could be on an episode of Overhaulin ?

I wish !

Default Check

Tire tracks, take pictures, look at the road access, which direction? Look for local towtrucks and flatdecks with hiabs.
Check out municipal environuts, they might have got permission from a nieghboring property owner. Look at the area with google earth see whats around.

Got word today that the vehicles have been recovered. I have been given no details as the authorities are involved, but is good to know they didn't end up as razor blades!
