Ah yes, Lucas, aka Prince of Darkness. It is said that British beer is warm because Lucas built the refrigerators.

Generally the ground post is obviously a stud direct into the casing and leaves two terminals on an insulated strip. The larger is "D" and the smaller "F". I'm assuming though its the usual Morris configuration where the dynamo is driven by, and the tensioner for, the timing chain. Hence it is essential that the necessarily substantial dynamo nose bearing is in good order. . . . . . . . . . . . . . Would it be like this? R. |

Morris dynamos
I have rebuilt a couple of these , Easy as pie .
Just check the field coils for resistance . replace bearings , clean comutater . Do the motoring test as per the manual to check it will motor OK The terminal connections are simple . black nut is ground , red nut is pos , F is field . On Richards pic the centre nut is ground from memory . I coloured them with paint to avoid mixups when wiring it up . The manual explains it all clearly Mike Morris silly Australian person owner |
