Default HUPs in the background 1947

This photo comes from program for 1998 Vintage Sports Car Club's event at Prescott Speed Hill Climb. I have no idea where the event takes place other than someplace near Winchcombe and Cheitenham.

Note the roof hatch rails on the white HUP.

Default Picture was taken at the 1946 meet

The photo discription reads as follows "Peter Stubberfield, Type 35B Bugatti, Prescott, probably 1946, Personalitities include Major Peter Vaughnan (with pipe), Monica Whincop (watching), Stirling Moss (running in white overalls), Dorothy Stanley Turner (behind driver's head), Russell Ashby on course starting."

Thanks for the web site.

Default Fashion?

The Starting Official appears to be wearing Patt'37 anklets. Was this de rigeur for racers in the Austerity years, or has he committed a fashion faux pas?
