Well got the C60L well and truly stuck
Hi All
Well I got the Pattern 12 C60L well and truly stuck at the bottom of the hill from the house, daughter and son in-law was up to help cut down a bunch of trees which had grown up into our view. Bottom of the hill is 80 feet lower than the house and about 200 feet in distance so it is steep. We need the truck and winch to snake some trees back that fell across the property line and on the the reservoir land and across the out flow from the dam. With the truck sitting on the winch sconches it is impressive to watch it pull really big trees up grade. Truck winched in all the trees with no problem then when I to drive up the hill just could not get any traction. The two inches of rain in the previous 24 hours didn't help, so the truck was just digging holes. So for the first time I ran the winch cable out the front of the truck and hitched on to a tree 100 ft up the hill. Engaged the winch released the brakes and just eased out the clutch and the truck just walked out of the holes over the rocks and up the hill with the engine just above idle speed. One of the things I did learn that the winch on CMPs is intended to be a crew served operation, hell of a lot easier to pull the cable out with three people pulling on it. I had thought about putting the gopro on the windshield before we started but decided not to now I wish had would have made some interesting video. Cheers Phil

And here I thought you were going to get up the hill like in Ice Cold in Alex. Backwards with the engine cranking over by hand.
