F15A for sale.
Unfortunately, I am selling my F15a. Too many projects, I just can't see I will ever get to it.
Here's the link. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/171839985...84.m1555.l2649 Here are a bunch more photos of the truck, spare tray and parts which go with it. http://www.surfacezero.com/g503/show...y.php?cat=4016 Edit: currently sold for $2500AU for bits all seen in pics above. Going (back!) to Qld if all goes well. Cheers, Ian.

Thats the one Richard! I did try to find some info about it when i stopped off in Temora, Coota and Junee a few years back, but people only remembered seeing it about, but nothing particular in terms of its history or photos.
Do you remember, did Tom have it for very long? It seems to have changed hands 3 or 4 times (well at least painted in different colours and business names on the door) in the greater Temora/Cootamundra area before Ken Hughes picked it up, based on markings on the door. Ford is noticeable in script on the passengers side door- could Giles Bros have had 2 at one stage? I will need to check my pics and notes of when i started to sand back the doors and see if i can find the names i found. Cheers, Ian.

I will check if Giles Bros. had two.
I only remember one being there, but I may be mistaken.

A customer from Ungarie bought it in about 1978 or 79 when they replaced it with an F100. I spoke to him about a week ago briefly and he still has it.
It's now powered by a Falcon 6.

Saw this add on ebay.
CMP doors are more expensive when they have signwriting from top to bottom! Can anyone loan me a paint brush, handful of dirt, and a time machine, please? No? What about loaning me 4 grand for this one? It should buff up OK. Some assembly required.

Heads Up OZ......
Now, maybe this will work for some one down in the Melbourne neck of the woods....but there's a CMP Maintenance Manual on Ebay (nice shape) from Melbourne Antiques. The price....a whopping $0.99. Price to ship it to Canada or USA $73.00. That's a little out of line for this neck of the woods. So.... maybe some Great Oz Wizard could snap this up and pay bugger all for shipping. I'll leave it with you.
Item number is 382 395 836 821 Canadian Pattern Military Armored Vehicle Maintenance Manual MB-C1. If you do get it, pass on the news here. Good luck.....Robert |

Ford CMP truck on Ebay
Hi all,
Here's one from another optimist on Ebay. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/263554334077?ul_noapp=true I like the comment on how easy it would be to fabricate a missing driver's door. Methinks he has limited metal fabrication experience. Not the only thing missing also! Cheers,

Yes, quite the optimist!
Especially offering to post to the USA. I wonder whether the Dalmatian is included. Quote:

Hi Keith,
Hope not. If the Dalmatian goes with the truck to to the USA it could be another Pistol & Boo Johnny Depp situation in reverse! Cheers

Ford CMP Australian body wooden chassis spacers
Good Day All,
It is amazing what you can sometime glean from a photo. While Looking closely at these EBay photos I noticed wooden spacer blocks inside the left chassis rail. I remember a thread on the subject of these spacers blocks as used on the Canadian bodied vehicles but was unsure if Australian bodied trucks also used chassis spacer blocks as I had never seen any of them on any truck here. That photo answered my question. Considering how many things are missing on that vehicle it is surprising that they are still there. Looks like I will have to sharpen up on my woodworking skills. Cheers,

Spacers
The FGTs used wooden spacers. I made a replacement set identical to the originals except I used KD Australian hardwood.
Don't know whether these were originally supplied with the chassis or locally made.

Frame spacers blocks
Hi Keith,
Thanks for that info. Makes sense that there would be something in between the top and bottom flanges to prevent them bending when the bolts are tightened. I only just noticed the lower flange on the left side of my truck's chassis was slightly bent up, about 4 mm, at the front body mount bolts. My neighbor has a porta pack so it should not be too difficult to open it back up to the correct distance. Cheers,
