Default Paint cont'

So armed with the type of neutral I went in to our local Home Hardware and baffled the fellow. He just can't get his head arounf the word"neutral'' because the paint they use has "base"colours, grrrr. Okay so we found clear 'base' but only in huge quantities not one quart of clear. So its on order and will be here 'next' week. Sure, so I will report when its here and mixed. Spent a good 40 minutes in there helping him look through the paint in the back while he tried to sell me every type of brown he came across. I told him its specific matched colour and gave him a copy of the dye codes, just didn't sink in.
So just updating and venting for those interested.
Sean

Thank god it was hot and muggy in the store too....:

See attached pic for an original RCA BIG DOG " NIPPER" 1935 era ,issued to Canadian RCA stores only. Try to find one! He will look very cool in front of the HUW "NIPPER". Now looking for the big gramophone, and next time you see him he will be sporting a nice WW11 Canadian helmut. Cheers Rob

Default Here is an original map case back door HUW...

I got this pic from the previous owner of the Alan Tooes HUW/Robert Coult. Robert was always very kind and generous with his time talking about his HUW. The last time I talked to him I got him on the phone at the Southhampton harbour on my way to Normandy a while back. I hear his health is not that great. Nice man. Rob

Default The big 17 is not ready to go...

we towed the Bofors instead. Tony drove the C-8 with a couple of local vets riding along, and I managed to slow ride the FAT and Bofors thru the parade route with no breakdowns. A fun time.

Default Flare gun and shells...

Picked this up last weekend from an old Canadian Navy man/Harvard pilot. Flare pistol with a wack of shells. Will give them a go when snow is on the ground, pretty dry around here with no snow cover. Still looking for the blackout door switch's in the back of the HUW, and 17 pounder stuff. Cheers for now ...Rob Fast
