Geoff and others, this is not the first instance in which a vehicle or parts have been unduly traded, sold etc to another party.
While this matter of course has been settled amongst a couple very admirable fellows in the hobby, I feel I must add my .02 worth. None of my business I suppose, but, as a fellow collector and supporter of the hobby and MLU, I think I'm entitled. Geoff, I very much respect your attitude toward the individuals involved in this issue in as much as them being unaware of the ownership situation, but covering for some unscrupulous individual(s) is paramont to leaving the booby trap for others to fall into. I have always said that this hobby consists of a small group of fellows and that one bad deal can make one's name "mud" instantly. Maybe WE as MLUers and collectors SHOULD know which character(s) to WATCH out for. A PM would suffice should you care to share... ![]()

One of the things that my Dad instilled in us boys, was the need to be honest at all times.
I can stand here and tell you, that no one has every lost a cent, because of me. I found my 23 Ford T truck, way out in the bush, and I could have just loaded it up, there was no for miles, but I chose to locate the owner, and eventually we did a deal. As a result of my honesty, and also because I had the ability to help him, then he in turn turned up many parts to help me with the rebuild. I must say that I am so glad, that your story had a happy ending. Regards Col Tigwell

Sitrep as of 1000 hrs local (Ottawa) time:
Orange C15a - formerly owned by one Geoff W-B, is now owned by myself. Gun Tractor - formerly owned by one Bruce Parker, is now part of the S&P Museum collection (includling the parts listed by Bruce) - Bruce can elaborate if he wishes. Ownership wise - all is tiddly, squared away and strack. Personality wise - some work is needed here - I trust that everyone involved in the ownership issue can rise above their conflicts and get back to furthering the aim of this hobby... Procurement wise - lessons learned: 1. Caveat emptor; 2. A deal that is too good to be true - usually is just that; and 3. Keep track of who owns what and seek out the owner - like the Colonel said, finding the owner has its benefits (Geoff, my hat is off to you - Thanks). I am very happy that all parties involved (owners and buyers) did the gentlemanly thing and concluded these transactions in a mature and responsible manner - as it should have been done in the beginning. EOM (Gunner stuff)
