Default 1946 photos

Note the chrome grille on the '41 Chevy. Any opinion as to whether the bodies were US-sourced? They could be British utility bodies of course.

Default E83W?

The rego suggests late 1938 but was it a wartime job?

Morning Lads:
Hanno's is a Studebaker. Dodgenut's may be a Ford but it is hard to tell with so little detail.

The following photos came from Pictures Australia website. http://www.pictureaustralia.org/index.html

I did an advanced search using 'Salvation Army'. These pics are just a few that turned up.

cheers
Cliff

Pic 1, 2, 3, 4

Pic 5 is from the AWM and is a D60 Dodge. I did think of placing this one in the Dodge thread but decided to place it here.

Hi Les just found this thread : this vehicle was operated on behalf of the NFS in London by the FANY . The number stencilled to the rear of the back wheel is its NFS fleet serial. Its Reg Number was GGC746, I am led to believe its based on a Studebaker. It took part in the 1946 Victory parade alongside the NAAFI Fordson 7V.

Default Rego

GGC 746 would appear to be a 1940-on London County Council one. I would quite happily affirm that the canteen appears to me to be a 1940 Chevrolet WA. I can't tell if it's lhd or rhd. I have numerous chassis numbers off 1940 WAs used by the Red Cross, St John Ambulance, hospitals et al. They were all Tarrytown-built, mostly June build with some July build, and may have been diverted cargos from ex-French or Belgian orders, and all were chassis with flat-face cowl as the intended assembly plant was supposed to produce a cab. I know that Duples did a hard cab similar to the US one, but they could have produced a utility cab as well: see WHEELS & TRACKS for a photo of an ATS/FANY '40 WA ambulance.

Default Lhd!

We know that the ATS trucks were lhd, and they had a similar utility cab. There are one or two shots of these trucks on the IWM website as well.

Default 1940 WA?

I may be wrong but it could be a 1940 Model WA, chassis/cowl. I have debated long and hard over the years whether these were diverted Belgian/French deliveries. Is the registration known please?

Default Canadian mobile canteen

Here's another one. This time fro the Royal Canadian Legion. Note the use of the "CASF" (Canadian Active Service Force) designation.

Hi guys:
First one is a Ford, not sure just what model but am guessing a V8 of 1937-1939.
Second is a Studebaker most likely 1937.
Edit:
Now that is odd. When I opened the last page of this thread. it stopped on the post with the Ford and the Studie and I forgot I had already answered it. Sorry.

It carries a British registration and I would say it is of manufacture over here, probably a Dagenham Ford.

The CASF canteen looked to me at first glance as though it was a Fordson 7V, echoing Richard's comments. As regards the WVS Ford, note its cuivvy rego, and presuambly as only just converted and delivered, is on trade plates.

Default EFI

Apparently it's part or is now part of the NAAFI: Expeditionary Forces Institute along with the NCS, or Naval Canteen Service.
