heat
in that sort of heat it will shrivel up everything, so please please keep it up your way, thought it was hot enough here yesterday at 38.3 c and today 35c. The only thing good about this was it cooled off to 15c with a cool easterly breeze last night here which was nice.

Just checked ... current temp says -7 light snow - though a couple of hours ago snow was very heavy/dense and big fat wet flakes.
3 avalanches lately have claimed 4 lives ... 3 in BC - snowboarding? (one young man visiting from Australia and one over by Lake Louise Alberta close to BC border ( from Quebic I believe but not sure ) avanlanche dangers a problem for a while now. These all very close together timing wise. Quote:
Floods also a problem ... and ice jams in Prince George major problem that will have to run it's natural course ... homes/biz ... ouch (more norther wester BC) So ... weather and natural events taking tolls. Nevada sure badly flooded ... Ouch ... prayers for a little less of all please. |

average
That is very tragic news . Condolences for all friends and family
Extremes of weather never end well If we could take an average of all the weather patterns it would be a lot better My dogs arent impressed with the heat either this taken at 6.30 p.m

In BC sometimes I read stories about the authorities going after the people they "rescue" to recover the expenses of the rescue operations and all, when the rescued one/s has knowingly ignored known warnings and signs and gets in trouble and has to be rescued, at fault. Sounds a totally reasonable to me! |

Some amazing photos (beautiful wild wow!)

In Toronto right now it's about +12C, and supposed to get up to between +13 and +14... this is our January thaw, only about two weeks early this year! By this time next week, projected highs are around -5C, so we'll be back into it shortly.
As warm as this sounds, it's also very damp, which (I find anyway) plays hell with old bones, particularly joints. I'm moving under my own steam right now, but that's about all I can say... I - NEED - HOT - AND - DRY!! Ergh... but what the hell, it's half-over... for now... you folks don't know how lucky you have it!

Here in Quebec (or Quebic if you’re in BC) the weather has being really strange so far this year. On New Years Day we got a big dump of snow then the temp drop down to -20C. The last two days there has being fog and rain. The temp today got up to +8C, tomorrow I should reach +12C.
I think that we now have BC’s weather, and we won’t give it back!!!! |

It was around -8 C here today but I'll take that anytime over that +42 stuff. I can bundle up in the cold but once you're down to skin and it's still too hot you just have to suffer.

Ontario, Canada recent weather
Yesterday, and day before, it rained like the hammers of hell!
Snow is all gone, high winds, lots of deadfall from the trees, vegetation is green(ish). Got to +15(!!!), here in Snowen Sound. Doesn't look good for the snowshow demo being put on this Saturday. Local ski hills are crying the blues and laying off staff. OK, Al Gore...willya lay off?

35C on the varandah today and the only green left is the native summer grass and the weeds. The creek that suplies the house water is dry again so it is back to carting water. The joy of living on the land

Actually pretty good here right now at -2 ... Sad news, another death due to another avalanche, making 5 in the last week I think? And 11 this season, so far I believe they said!!! Stay away from the avalanche-ish areas I say |

AJ, you haven't gotten back to me about my date yet, hmmm? BTW, for those who actually care, we're back to around zero, damp and gray. It's supposed to be snowing tonight north of the city, so I'm not going to bitch.... much! I just spent two goddam hours in a goddam dentist's chair having some goddam hung-over incompetent ream out the biggest tooth in my head and fill it full of crap which will no doubt fall out as soon as the warranty expires. DID I MENTION THAT I HURT??!! So be nice, you morons...
