Archer SPG 17 pdr
Gentleman....
I am finishing the construction of an Archer SPG 17 pdr., of the Maquette (an abominable kit...)  Could you help me with pictures of Archer in use for English or Canadian? Which units did use this vehicle???? I would like to do a version different from the box of the kit...  Thank you and merry x´mas !!! Panzerserra

Canadian Archers
The first Canadian unit to receive the Archer was the 7th Anti-Tank Regiment of 1st Canadian Corps in Italy. This unit consisted of four batteries (15th, 104th, 111th and 113th A/T btys) two of which were SP while the other two were towed. The SP btys were first equipped with 3in M-10s but converted to Archers in the fall of 1944. The 15th Bty was one of the SP btys. I don’t know which the other SP bty was. The Archers were returned to the British when the Canadian Corps left Italy and moved to NWE in March 1945. On arrival in Belgium they were equipped with 17pdr M-10s.
The markings shown on the box of the Archer kit are wrong. Refer to the photo below. The formation sign should be that of the 1st Canadian Corps with the AoS being red over blue with a white bar on top, and displaying the number “2”. Other Canadian units that used the Archer were the Anti-tank regiments of the three Infantry Divisions starting in early 1945. The formation signs would be those of the Infantry Divisions consisting of a coloured rectangle with a yellow Maple leaf (red for 1st CID, blue for 2nd CID and light blue-grey for 3rd CID). The AoS would be red over blue with the number 46 displayed. Each Archer battery consisted of three troops. Each troop had three Archers SP guns and a Valentine XI tank for use of the troop commander. There was an additional tank for the Battery commander giving a total of four Valentine XIs and nine Archer SPGs in the battery.

The correct, then, would be to place me the Aos with number 2 in left fender and the formation sign red sign, with white frieze and the maple leaf gold in right fender ??? Thank you, once again... regards Panzerserra
