Seat frames
Hey John, I sure you could find a couple of seat frames under my house. I have found a set of Acco rear fair-leads you may adapt for your project.

Back into it
Hi all, Too long since working on the C15 but got the house to lock up so i can get back to the real job at hand. The base of the cab went on and back into the shed she went.Front nose is on and guards, today i worked on rebushing the compressor as it had a severe oil leak.I found on dissassembly the big end bush had come out and allowed the oil to flow down the oil hole and fill up the crank of the compressor and out the breather. Also the breather wasn't sealed to the pot so i sealed it all up and hopefully it holds oil.Hand brake all done and finishing off the transfer shifter assy.Note the poor old white Chev in the third photo has been robbed of her front diff no more outings for a while. ( Thanks to Euen the fun police)

Interesting about the oil presure and temp
Quote:
Do you have any idea what the cluster with the 60 psi oil pressure and the electric temperature gage came off? That one will work very nicely if you re engine to a 235 or 261. As the later engines have a lot more oil pressure and on the standard gage the needle just sits at top peg. The electric temperature gage will also be interesting as some of the later engines have an electric sensor just under the thermostat at the front of the engine. May take a little playing around to find the correct sender unit or to match/trim the resistance to get a proper reading. Looks like you are making real good progress. Cheers Phil

Dash cluster
Hi Phill, Not sure what it is out of but today i had the voltage and resistance of fuel and temp gauges tested. 6V and suplied the correct sender unit to suit the gauge.I pulled it apart to clean and paint it,the glass and gauges are like new it will suit the 235 a treat as you say.

Made It to Corowa
Hi All,Sunday night resting up from the best weekend i have ever spent with the nicest group of people you could meet.Yes the Chev was finished good enough to drive her to Corowa on the Friday,In total she did 650klms return trip and all trouble free.On the highway she sat on 90-95klms and the top speed was 105 klms but it felt like she was reving her head off.Total fuel usage was 160 liters which i felt wasn't too bad considering i havn't realy given her a good tune up.Next step is to sort out the tray and fairleads .oh and get some better seat so my bum doesn't burn after the first hour of cruising. Thanks again to all that made our weekend as good as it was we look foreward to getting to know you all better in the near future. John Stokes (Note my crazy neighbor)

Morn John
Well sounds like a great time was had by All, awesome ! the Blitz looks great, love these tires but I dunno about 105km/h that sounds spookey in a 67 year od truck would love to see more pics of your ride and BTW those rear fenders look the part quite well, all you need now is a fifth wheel and you have a Blitz tractor LOL

Rear Fair Leads
Hi All,
I have been a bit quiet on the restoration side because the rear fair leads have been keeping me occupied.Euen lent me a set of rear fair leads to duplicate, now i know why he didn't want to part with them.Any way almost there and if someone could let me know were the rollers painted or dipped in gal or something?Back in the shed after Monday cruise preparing for some olive paint and finishing off. John sold his truck years ago and moved to the country. He runs a engineering machine shop from home now.
