Estate mistery
Can anyone help identify this 86cm long sword found in a shed of an estate I am helping clean up.

I couldn't resist
Master Bates' Hornpipe
There once was a pirate named Bates, Danced a hornpipe for all of his mates, But he slipped on his cutlass, And now he is nut-less, And practically useless on dates.

Sword
There are many many images of swords on line. Try right click - Google image search. Are there any markings near the hilt? Straight or curved blade?

I tried the google search and received a picture of two swords but the description under the photo was of the sword with a different shaped handle.
I can not find any markings on it. I have added extra images. Could it simply be a ceremonial sword as the deceased's farther was Rear Admiral George Angus Bennett.

Looks to me to be a private purchase lieutenant/midshipmen plain Pattern 1805 Naval Sword. The brass stirrup guard suggests naval service, but the curvature of the blade is between a cavalry sabre and an infantry sword.

Sword
I have seen these described as a "Sailor in Horse Naval Cutlass"
