Not getting much traction........
Hi Paul
I can feel the vacuum from here .....maybe because it is not associated with your original posting......... you do have a good looking truck to start a restoration from..... too bad you are on the wrong side of the pond...... May I ask why, with such a good looking truck, you need to replace all four brake drum and hubs.........? I assume you meant the full brake drum assembly......as they are usually indestructible. They may need resurfacing but they are plenty thick for a brake shop to do that for you. Any pictures of your tear down??? Some here may be able to give you verbal advice / direction at least. Cheers Bob C

Have you tried Leegwater Parts (now run by Stefan, Dirks's son)? https://www.lwdparts.com HTH, Hanno

Thanks Bob and Hanno,
The truck had been sitting for best part of 30 years and in desperation to get her rolling the previous owner had smashed the brake drums. (Sorry I meant to say drum the hubs are fine). I'm looking for one front drivers side and one rear passanger drums. I spoken with Stefan and there's a chance he may have what I need but I'm informed there are two different types and I'll need to measure mine. Can any of you guys tell me from my photo which type of drum I may have? I'm told the rear drums didn't change. Cheers, Paul

Smashing the brake drums.....
What a primitive way of fixing a simple problem......
Not sure what measurements are critical...... IMHO there are only two kinds....the ones with 6 studs and the one with 8 studs. According to the parts manual, which lists 3 set of two....they also not that once a certain part number is exhausted to use the next and so on.....so it implies they all fit. I would suggest you take your wheels apart and carefully document the order things came off in..... you may have an early one (doubtful on a cab 12) with a spacer between bearings and important shims that will pre adjust the tension on your bearings.....save the shims...clean them and make note of which wheel / side they came from.......... and remember to take photos.....keep your bearings in plastic sandwich bags ... they may need replacing and so will your oil seal inside the brake drum. Revisit Stephan and ask how to visually tell/measure for differences........ and post the results so that we can all learn. There must be someone closer to you on the Island that has done this before. Good luck
