Whats it for
I have a "whats it for question" On the front driver side of a mortar carrier there is a bracket that looks like it should be to hold the mortar base plate but it is on the wrong side any thoughts would be appreciated

Stew, That bracket does not show up in the parts book. I have had carriers with a similar bracket & thought it was added later for a post war licence plate. Comparing the hole spacing to a plate might be a clue.

Stew,
Ontario plates in the 1940s & up to 1959 had holes in the corners as well as the current locations. In the 1940s plates sometimes varied in length to suit the number as well. Jack |
