Default 9.00 x 16 NDT

Hi all - where have they all gone? I have been ringing around but could only find one. I found some 7.50 x 16 but don't want them.

Bob

You won't believe this Bob, I have been chasing 7.50-16's for a couple of months, and only managed to find a set of 9.00-16's at Wagga Swap last month.
I assume you have tried Morree Ag tyres?
(Shortage of lugged 7-50's is apparantly due to the earthquakes etc overseas, all the good tyres are in demand, AAustralia is low on the list....Have had to buy ex army tyres.
Also, see Antique Tyres in Melbourne, they list Bar treads:

You will have to mortgage your house first they charge like a wounded bull . I believe they order their tyres from COKER in the US and you would be up for close to $500 per tyre

Much cheaper options around I would think .

Default Tyres

Sorry Andy, tyres I bought were 11.00 x 20 Armstrong Military.

Ironically, my wife now needs tyres for her AWD Hyundai & while hers are gonna be new and my Blitz ones are pre-loved, hers will be dearer!!!!

More tread on mine though

sorry for the confusion guys, I got it wrong, thanks for stopping Bob going on a wildgoose chase Tony !

I struggled to source used tyres.... either no tread or tread but ancient walls or the usual ... good but other side of country

I went for 5 commercial 9.00 x 20 for $500 the lot... I know they are not original or off road biased but only done 1000km and no age issues plus will do mostly road mileage ...... but of course, as soon as i bought them i got offer a set of bargrips... murphys law

Default 9.00-16

Gday Bob,

You could try Doug Field at Flycom Spares up here in Ipswich, a few months back i purchased a set of five 9.00-16's for my WC 21 they were reasonably priced there brand name is Speedways great looking tyres, i cant remember exactly what i paid but it was around the $1200/1500 mark? they included bands and tubes.

Hope that this is useful, cheers Matt Baker.

Hi Bob,
I know about the crowd in WA (Who do you think put Tony on to them??) . Unfortunatley they have not stocked 7-50 x 16's for the last 12 months (if ever).
Howard, are you after 6-00 x16's or 7-50? There website is not very helpful at the moment, but they do have the 6-00's on E-bay:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Tyre-4x4-...item2eb1ace112
$186 ea. Went up $10 just after Tony Little Jo got his.
Rich.

Hi Rich

That was a great place you put me onto. I was able to get all my new tryes for my Jeep project, plus extra tyres for Bob as well. I got the lot for $140.00 each free delivery to my front door. I note they have now gone up to $186.00. I checked the Powersport WA site tonight and they have now put up the following message on their site.

Below are all the Bar Lug we currently have in stock.

ITEMS IN THIS CATEGORY ARE CURRENTLY OUT OF STOCK. PLEASE CHECK

I noted that my cartnote/invioce showed the tyres were not sent from WA but were sourced from: TYres and Tubes Aust. 122 Castro Way Derrimut Vic. 3026.

Cheers

Tony

Actually, 9.00x16. But just had a MASSIVE and unexpected bill arrive today... Tyres don't seem that important anymore!

Default Thank You Ryan

You deliver, I buy. Now all I have to do is pay for them and travel 1800kms to get them. Will be travelling to Sydney in November so hopefully that will do.

Default Transportation

Hi all - I now need to get these tyres home without incurring a 3600km round trip. Any ideas Coffs Harbour to our place? Anybody know any truckies in the area?

Bob

Bob
maybe instead of the truckies you could ask one of the local coffs harbour tyre companies, one of the nationals like Bob Jane etc as they move tyres between their stores all over the country maybe you could do a deal for bringing them down with the store manager if the seller is willing to drop them into the tyre store

Default Lateral Thinking

Hi Andy - good thought and that is why I rely on MLU to come up with solutions. My brain can only handle so much thinking. Boy, I bet I just left myself wide open for some cute comments.

You can get new military firestone 900/16 from summit racing in the USA and fedex will deliver them to your front door very cheap if you keep it under $1k
We had 10 750/20s for our stude sent over for just over $300 ea.
Colin.

Default Tyres From USA

Hi Colin - I knew you had bought from the States and thanks for the company name. I researched them and found that the ones I bought here were half the the total cost of Summit when you throw in the freight. However in your case I think you did well.
