Thanks for the memories....

Perhaps being from Quebec had the same stigma attached then as now?

Interestingly, while the tent itself was manufactured in 1942 by Woods in Ottawa (HUll), the bag that it came in was made in 1943 in Winnepeg, Manitoba. If you look at the attached pic you can see Manitoba Tent and Awning partially hidden beneath some paint or whatever. It has also been stencilled over. I'm surprised that Woods didn't make the bag that the tent came in, and that they or someone else would try to hide the original maker of the bag. Both the tent bag and the tent pin bag have the same number stencilled on them: 24-T I I3-888. I assume both bags have the same number so that they would be considered one issue, after all, the tent wouldn't be much use without pins. The tent pin bag itself is also stencilled 1942 and was made by:

J.J. Turner & Sons, Ltd.
Manufacturers
Peterborough, Ont

If you look closely, you'll they've mispelled "circular" on the pin bag.
Lastly, the tent pins themselves have the date and manufacturer impressed into them:

C.B.S. CO. LTD.
PRESTON, ONT. 1942

I purchased all; the tent, the pins, and the bags on ebay for $485.00, shipping included. I still consider it one of the best buys I have ever made and why I still promote ebay as a place to find a bargain every now and then. Derek.

Also 8'x10' short walled Prospector tents/large pup tents. 11 oz. tan canvas, jute rope, beautiful replica. Price $300.00 Canadian, 8 available.

These are movie production repos, sewn from original copies. Movie company sprayed them with a light stain to make them look weathered, but does not affect durability or quality.

I am sorry guys, but Canadian buyers get first dibs on these before they go to Milweb or EBAY.

Will consider trades:Bofors spare barrell or Bofors related, and CMP LAAT related.

Pictures coming this week.

Cheers Rob

This thread is a bit old, and I believe Rob sold them all. I'll wait for him to chime in mind you. If he is out of them, shoot me a PM and I think I have one out in the shed I would part with.
