C15A radiator
Hi everyone
Can someone tell me if the radiator that I have is an original one for a C15A 13 Cab truck. The previous owner said that they did not think it was original because they had to weld on some extra steel for it to fit into the mounting brackets on the truck. However looking at some photos it appears that the rad does have the original hose attachments points and filling tube. Also does anyone know of a modern replacement for the rad cap as this on is shot.

Looks right but
I think it's from and 11 or 12 cab because of the offset filler tube and rad cap.

Jordan, I think that Bruce may be correct about the 11 / 12 cab issue. Personally my 12 cab was a Ford which is totally different.
My HUP rad looks very similar to the one you are showing with the exception that the rad cap / filler neck is on the top of the tank. It sure looks to be a Chev rad tho'

Jordan...just jumping in here, probably with a great deal of non-technical knowledge, ...but does it really matter what rad cap you fit on?
My C15A has a non-pressurized system...twist cap off, no problem, even at full operating temperature. Does this make sense?

Jon, you are quite correct re: non pressure rad cap.
Many early radiators used this system, mine on the HUP is like this.

Confirmed Cab 11....
Looks identical to what I removed from my cab 11 Chev.......
..... and I would be interested in buying if for sale. I believe I have an original cab 13 rad still in my parts truck....condition to be determined.

Thanks to everyone for helping in the identification of this rad.
My reason for asking about the rad cap is that this one is rather rusted out on the inside. Bob I would be interested in a trade if its possible. PM me. I don't really want to sell it unles I can get a replacment for the same price. My plan was to get it re-built within the next few months as I dont trust 60 year old rads since my carrier experience.
