I recall seeing this in Jay Lenos Garage video. It was temperamental and difficult to start. It could only run for a short time due to overheating. An interesting aesthetic creation but hardly truly functional. There are other similar vehicles with front or rear mounted radial engines with differing degrees of success.
I Think building a prop powered CMP would be a great project for you Bob! |

. Turns out the point is those cars aren't meant to be driven but trailered to shows and set up with mirrors under them. Here's the "1939 Plymouth Radial Air": https://youtu.be/HADpy9bF2U4?si=Kw-iWs4jPLbaLQCt This is an easy way to have fun with a radial engine: https://youtu.be/0Vq3vl4YMTw?si=gjOATpAVa03q5efZ

..... surprised I have not seen it before.......
Absolutely awesome but hardly practical........ but still amazing including the finish of the truck. The things big boy will do..... ....and to BOB P. If I built one...... ......................... on what ground could I fight the divorce ????? I met a Pastor this week who has a 1 1/4 ton 42 Chev truck chopped, dropped, mopped, into a modrod pickup in plain steel finish with 3 clearcoats..... who would have imagined....and still powered by the original 216....... who volunteers as restorer at the CWM. All I can say is Amen!!!!!!!
