Aussie CWGC graves in Canada
I discovered these graves back in 1994 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and just last week on a much deserved holiday to Canada, I took a few pics.
With the BCATP ongoing during the war years, many communities throughout the prairies were dotted with these trg bases for aircrew and pilots. A few which come to mind are of course Saskatoon, but also Regina, Moose Jaw, Weyburn, Estevan, Dafoe, Swift Current, and many more here in the province of Saskatchewan alone. So anyways, I could not help notice some of these RAAF graves, and some even had the same date of death, which was most likely from a a prang. So, so far away from their homelands, I have wondered if any of their family has ewver come to visit them. LAC's Rowes marker I think sums it up for them all on his epitath, it ends with 'A Dinkum Aussie". Regards, Wes
