hi, will be over wednesday, aim for 09:30. Sasha is 4 and i am sure as he gets older he will carry on with the carrier hobby, but for now carriers are out of bounds for him, 'tank hunter' is named 'Alexander' after him.

Those waiting for downpipes, hope to finish them before Christmas!.

see u wednesday, kev.

Kevin came over today .so now the down pipes are fitted. Run the engine up to temp and all is well, no leaks or drips. Switched off and after a few checks i sat myself in the drivers seat , pressed the start button, engine starts, clutch down , in gear and away i go - 1 foot forward and 1 foot back that will do for its first move under its own power in 60 years.

Looks good Shaun the only complaint is the colour of the engine and fan.The rpm you are idling at is also to high
Don"t take it the wrong way I am very opinionated when it comes to details.

Thanks for the coments folks, Stew it is running fast , i had wound the tickover up to get the engine warmed up. still a lot of setting up to do. As to the fan colour, it was red all the way down to the base colour, so red it is. My MK2 has a green fan !

Default Thinking caps on chaps ....

Shaun's carrier is going to need a name ( or a nickname )

What can we come up with for a Carrier that went from grave to cradle in exactly twelve months?

Lazarus would be a bit downbeat - who has something better? Solstice maybe, since it started and finished on the winter Solstice?

The morning started with Rick traveling 4 hours to assist with the roll out ( thanks Rick good effort !!) well a year to the day and the old wagon flew ! The first trip went ok, then a few adjustments later and another run and goes very well, we covered just over 2 miles, no over heating or major leaks so all is well. I think the video says it all so enjoy ! sorry for the shakey video ( to much excitment for all concerned ). By the way im the good looking one in the green wooly hat - Rick has the blue one ! Both Ex REME hence the sign on the front of the carrier .

Yes Gordon a name is needed , something light and fluffy like all good British AFVs

Well done, sorry I couldn't be there, hope to see it soon.

There's probably a joke in there somewhere, what with the time of year, new born (carrier) and wise men.

All the best, Ben

Any time Ben, i was hoping to get your way before christmas but it has not happened - i dont know to much about wise men !!! ha ha

Here are a few more images from today

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NaqKC0ndWGw

I know the last one is not a carrier but Rich was reminicing over equipment he came across in the Gulf war. I think we have to keep an eye on him or well be collecting Russian kit before we know it !

Default Well Done.

Shaun, Thats Great, What a transformation from when you found her on this day last year, worth the hard graft, another carrier saved for future generations to admire and remember 'good old british engineering'......They dont make em like that anymore!.

I must say that rick looks less stessed than when i saw him last ..........that carrier must be behaving itsself!

What you going to call her, how about 'Hedge Jumper'.

Merry Christmas .

Kevin.

Default Excellent

Doesn't get better than that, the smiles said it all.

Noisy little soul on the video though, I expect when the panelling is all there it'll be a fraction quieter, or are they always that loud?
