I did not have the camera with me, so I will attempt to reconstruct the scene -imagine two bald men trying to push their heads through a sweater top at the same time (and yes, they were facing forward as I could clearly see their "noses"...).

Default Forget the bald men and focus on the truck stuff...

I know boring.... but at least with the windows we can do something with it..

Monsewer Clarke dug up the following .... alledged... CMP window.... seems to fit a cab 13 on the left passenger side.... sliding windows similar to the late 45 HUP.....

it is sloped backward similar to a cab 11/12 but is too long to fit in the door/window opening......

In one of the pictures I inserted bubbles to show the 3 screw studs that are angled forward like the frame of a standard cab 13...... and it has evidence that it was bolted onto the door flat edge with the slope backwards...

Any one has any idea what is was intended for..... Brian...??? and early experimental HUP model....???

It has the right height to fit in the cab 13 window opening.....

Puzzled...?

Marci, Monsewer Gravel Pit,

I wish to add to the observations of the Senior Hammond CMPer. The sliding window has the same "handle" arrangement as my 45 HUP - a basic bar that the end of the sliding glass fits into fitted with a small "bar" offset at 90 degrees that acts as the handle (see Bob's "bubble" photo). The size of the "square" glass rear slider is similar to my HUP's glass. The guides are the same, the screws and their spacing are the same - except for the sloped forward part.

I am not sure if it will fit Brian Gough's prototype HUP, but it may be worth a trip down south to find out...or maybe, just maybe it could be the start of a new project (which will make my 45 HUP look easy).

Since Bobbie is touring southern Ontario, and Grant tends to keep quiet, I'll post to this thread from Asia. No CMPs reported, but there may be some cars around here with CMP DNA.

Bangkok is an interesting place - lots of people, rain, cars, trucks, motorcycles, buses, tuk-tuks, bicycles and elephants! That's right, elephants, and like most other forms of transport here, they too have "exhaust" of epic proportions. That's the poop from Siam!

I am looking forward to the next Rotter post...

Default Report from the "strong silent type"

Saturday didn't rain as forecast, so Bob and I spent time replacing the chimney collar on the barn to keep out rain, snow and critters. The old one had been destroyed during the winter's snows. Next project was finishing off the fenders on the recovery trailer. They are now painted and mounted, removable to load wider vehicles (or flat tired CMPs). The licence plate was also relocated to a frame mounted bracket to ease fender removal. The full refurbishment of the trailer is on hold (sandblast, paint OD, rewire). After Lunch Clive arrived to clean the pine needles out of his Jeep and erect a shelter for the Jeep. Ground was levelled and the Princess Auto (made in China with cryptic instructions) shelter was erected. This one is wider but not as tall as the others, better suited for Jeeps than CMPs. They also made the roof and sides as one tarp and provided bars along the sides near ground level.
A few more minor items and it was declared beer time.
No photos because Bob was the official photographer and I'v now sent him on a recce for more rusty old trucks. I'd prefer them not to be rusty but that doesn't seem to happen here. Actually, Bob is performing family duties but can anyone imagine him not looking for CMPs if the opportunity presents?

Default Catching up with last weekend.....

.... before we head off to CC 7


Two photos of where Clive's Jeep and trailer now resides.....

The shelters are from Princess.... 10x20 but not really high enough for a C 15a CMP....... but very appropriate for a Jeep..... Clive's original trailer is acrually stored behind the Jeep sideways.

Not having yet installed some wooden beam that will allow to lag bolt the shelter to the ground CLive was cautioned to tie down the canvass shelter to the Jeep itself....... NOTE... must remind Clive to untie the rope before driving the Jeep out of the shelter....

It keeps it nice and dry.....
