David, I have attached a photo ...
I am going to be in Ottawa for a meeting next week and will see if I can get a copy of Mr. Gregg's book at the War Museum, or some further info there if there is time.

....Regards,

Hi John

Unfortunately Bill Gregg's Books are out of print, I'll dig out the publishing information and maybe you can find a used copy on the internet.

Cheers Phil

Default Decode

My decode John is:

Body... -DUMP-4 so I assume that it was originally a dump truck?

MODEL C60S ..not seen C60S-T before! I HAVE TO ADD that any in the UK were ready fodder post-war for the refurb companies as tippers were essential for post-war rebuilding when there were no, say, Bedfords available.

CAB 13 ...third type closed cab with reverse-slope windshield
1944 model Chevrolet C60S sequential production number 9380, which is unique in my database!
ENGINE # PR [right hand drive 216 cu in] number 4026485
CONTRACT C.D.L.V. 3525 so a late war one!
DATE: Assembled in Oshawa March 20th 1945

Very interesting indeed! I have no data on any other C60S lorries as late as this.

Hi there

Bill Gregg's books, other than the Profile Series, are available through the tuck shop at the RCA Museum at CFB Shilo, Manitoba.
