The continnnnnuing stoooory of a man and his box
Back again after a couple of days...been busy but managed to get a bit more done on the box.
First off, thanks for the compliment George...I could not have accomplished what I have done so far without your excellent instructions. Koodos to you. Spent quite a bit of time grinding 1/4 inch plate to form bits and pieces. On a humorous note...I was busy bending the funny angles for the end of the box and got distracted just before welding one on. After getting back to the box I fitted the piece I had just cut and bent from the template I had used and much to my confusion there was too much of an overhang on one end...I thought mmmm must of made an error...oh well I will weld it in place and grind the overhang off. Got the piece welded on and went in for supper. It bothered me all through the shrimps and muscles...after dinner I went back out and looked at it one more time....I welded the bugger upside down...   so grind and cut it out...make a new one and put it in the right way....HEY! no overhang, a perfect fit. Any way....here is a pic of my progress so far....tomorrow the lids get made and put on. BTW the wine from La Fiole du Pape and is Chateauneuf-du-Pape  Mike in Sunny Windsor

I may have lost count
 , but there is still progress to report. I have added a couple of pics I took this afternoon....I have two more pieces to cut and bend to finish of the box, with the exception of the clamshells. I figure by end of Sunday I will be ready to paint. Just finished sup so I will do a couple more hours in the garage tonight so I will give another update then. Cheers for now.. Out in the day light
Well I am back at it after a week in Ottawa lernen stuff and meeting some of the ROTTERs. Had a great time and wish to thank the "crew". I rolled the Ford out of the shelter in preparation to turn it around and put it in the garage nose first. This will certainly make it easier to drop the engine and tranny in...as well as start wiring it. Also this will give me some of the tarp area to store the cargo box which if all goes to plan will be here tomorrow...that will be another story.....anyway till tomorrow...by the way Naniamo BC got 20+cm of snow last night and this morning....

Tire rotation
 AS we all know there are many "schools of thought" given to what is the right shade of OD and did they use gasoline to cut paint and do weavels wobble....This is particularly true of "those tires that won't fit"....now that we know that, yes Martha they Do fit...and the fact that they are considered "directionals" with an arrow to boot, and considering when and where one will have the inclination to rotate their tires to include the spare, afterall we don't want to incurr "push-pull" on our diffs with tires that are not the same circumference. I would suggest that although the manuals have decided this and that....no matter what direction the v hits the ground the tires will in effect roll if placed on edge rather than flat like some seroid bound Icelandics who consider tires not only poorly engineered but damn heavy??  So for those who wish and suppose that my tires are on wrong....I will give you an updated picture after my first rotation of all tires....say next year sometime? They will then follow the notion that the inverted V will make them last longer. At least for a year until next rotation.Make no mistake I take all your opinons with a wink and a smile and enjoy a good torment and sh-- chucking...after all "you shouldn't have joined if you can't take a joke"! Duh!!!!! what ham eye gonna do.....
.... I have NO spare on my cab 11....... how will I rotate....side to side or criss cross...... so let's see at 3000 miles per year every second year my tires will be on right...... that should last me.... hell I will never last that long.
