Default oil in austins

Rcihard where you ever at Kinnegar N.I.(39Inf Bde) and do you know that other REME stalwart Doug Mathieson regards malcolm

I would assume you also have to take into account if their are any metals in the axle which may be effected by a modern EP90.

I think most people say go for a GL3 spec or lower.

Neil,

Fair comment re. the GL3, whether Radek would have the choice in his country, I do not know, but if there was any doubt, then a straight SAE 90 gear oil would be alright. Not that I can think of any bronze parts in the rear axle on an Austin.

Richard,

Good old 46 CMD, with its Det at Ballykelly. Didn't serve with the workshop, but had many dealings over the years 71-73 and 79-87.

Not much left now in Ballykelly except the building, which I am led to believe is a listed building

I still see some of the old civilian staff now and again around my area.

Hi Paul,

Some confusion here , I worked at 44 Comd Wksp........at the opposite end of the UK, 74 - 96, when it closed so a railway to France could go through the middle of it
