This is a Canadian build Lancaster Mk X, with 419 Squadron, KB 721, VR-B, Baker. The nose art is Linden Rose. I do not know why it is referred to as Linden Rose. Dad flew this aircraft from December 1944-February, 1945. Note that the plane under the bomb-bay doors is NA-P (428 or Ghost Squadron). It is now in the Aviation Museum in Ottawa.
My Father, Flt/Lt. HHM Cave, was the brother of Lt. JRD Cave, with the 23rd Field Regiment, (Self-Propelled). |
