A Grease Gun wouldn't be of any use without Grease, so here's a 2lb tin of "Grease No3". V.O.Co Ltd is the Vacuum Oil Company, which later became Mobil Australia.

Max has a few of these tins and is greasing people's palms with them.

Default carrying on!

I thought i would add some pics and links in to this thread so they dont get lost in the abyss!

Jeff asked about details of the tyre correct pump- here they are.

I picked up this pump for what could have been a $2 profit! I looked at the other one in the photo with the big base at a swap last year and the guy said '$5, i dont want to take it home', i said no because i needed it like a hole in my head. He then threw the CMP one at me and said there you go, 2 for $2, again i said no as i didnt know it was a CMP pump or i would have grabbed it first! He said ok, just take them- again i said no, he said i`ll give you $2 to take them- again i said no, i then ended up giving in and just giving him the $2 because i felt bad and took them so he would leave me!

It wasnt until i got home and I was looking at the pumps I noticed a stamping. Off to the wire wheel, a bit of a brush and whala- the D^D appeared! I jumped around a fare bit that afternoon! For those wondering, the correct CMP pump is the dark green, shorter one on the left.

The only marking on it are: D^D on the body at the top. D.E.P. on the cap and 7 on the base.

Pics are available here: http://www.surfacezero.com/g503/show...717&ppuser=473

Cheers,
Ian.

I`ll go take some pics of some spanners which match the part #'s in the packing list and the manuals as well as a 1944 D^D shovel and post these up too.

Cheers,
Ian.

Ian,

Thanks for posing your pics. I took the liberty to use the proper links to the G503 Album site (copy "Linked Thumbnail").

Cheers,
Hanno

Thanks for that Hanno.

I`m still mastering the finer art of picture posting- big ones i can do, smaller ones linked is a work in progress! I can do a link and a small picture, but not together!

I gave it a practice in the preview function for this reply with some of the same photo's but i couldnt get it to work. Where can i go on the site to read up about how to do it?

Thanks for that Ian, I have probably walk past them at swaps, at least now I know what to look for.
This one was on OZ eBay a while back and unfortunately I missed out on it. It was advertised as a D^D tyre pump but this is the only photo of it.
It went for a lot more than $2.
Cheers
Jeff
P.S I have been looking at pick heads at swaps, markets, second hand stores for about 5 years and have never found a D^D one, except a shorter land rover one at Corowa this year(thanks to Tony) and I left it for Bill to buy.

Thanks again Hanno! Hows about this!!!

Thanks mate! Another thing to add to the resume!

Jeff-more than welcome. I realised i didnt get some good overall shots and dimensions. I`ll take some and put up and into the above post. Now i know what to look for, i often see similar ones- but not exactly the same- ho hum, where theres 2, there is more!

Thanks for the info on pick heads. I managed to find those 2 in one holiday trip in an antique store and a scrap yard/antiquey type place. I didnt know what to look for and just looked at every one I could find. Again, where there is 2, there must be more! I'll keep an eye out for both things for you.

Check your email too- i sent you some stuff on the trailer register/database.

Cheers,
Ian.
