Bob I think the Engine colour was a carry on from the pre war civilian market days as I know that the Dodge motors in all their line of cars and trucks were painted grey in the 1930's. Mind you when they were rebuilt by the military they probably got resprayed green or OD or what ever the vehicle colour became.
