Some additional facts from W&T magazine no 37:
- An order for the Garner G3 was placed by the War Office in November 39 for 45 units, designated as FATs but with GS bodies and open cabs. WD nos H4649210-254. - Production at Garner's Park Royal works. - Specialist drivers were needed - At some point it was decided to hand the lot to the Turkish Govt. - War Dept numbers ceased to be used after 23 units - an ex-emplyee states 53 units produced. - some still in use in British forces by 1945 - one reported in the Far East. |
