Good, but before that? Yes, it was the site of 3 radio telescope installations built up from surplus wartime RADAR gear, the 1st called Mills Cross, used by CSIRO before the Parkes 68m Dish was built. (Seen the movie "The Dish?)

But what was the place in WW2, and who used it?

And where's the Canberra bomber gone? I wouldn't have thought it airworthy!
