In Blueprint for Victory, Gregg states that over 800,000 military transport vehicles were produced in Canada during the war as well as 50,000 armored fighting vehicles. He also states that 900,000 military vehicles were produced as well as 1,700,000 small arms.
Chevrolet made over 300,000 military vehicles. The 100,000th Ford military vehicle was a 12 cab. Canada used 168,000 vehicles of which 34,000 remained in Canada. In Canadian use, there was one vehicle for every three soldiers. The Americans had one for every 5 to 7 soldiers and the Brits had less than that. Canada was the most highly mechanized force in the war. He also says that 15,000 of the best overseas vehicles were selected to return to Canada. They made it to Ontario then most of them were sent to other UN countries
