In today's world it is just FMC, an acronym, they have dropped it's orginal meaning Food Machinery Corporation. Before WW2 they were manufacturing food machinery and therefore had lots of experience with conveyor belts etc. During WW2 US Ordnance contracted them to build the famous LVT series, this is how they got into military vehicle manufacture.
