Col Murray Lee was the Base Commander when he wrote this book. His good sense of humour (having an army unit on an air base - one would require one) and sense of fair play won my respect. I treasure my autographed copy of his book, which reminds me of some mischief pulled when I "retired" - a story for some other day...

I'll have to read it and see...
416 SQN was there at the time,and 434 SQN did close it down...How sad...
