That's a Grizzly
Hi there
The tank is a standard MLW-Built Grizzly that at some time during the war had a Firefly turret mounted. I am told this wasn't just a case of dropping the turret on any old hull, but was actually converted to Firefly standard: re-configured ammo stowage, sealed bow MG position etc. Apparently this was done in case the shortage of Shermans got so bad the Allies would have to scoop up the 188 Grizzlys built but never sent overseas.
