There isn't one. I've looked at flea markets, antique auctions, 2nd hand stores, the internet and militaria shows in both Canada and the U.S. looking for reasonably priced original Canadian kit. About 10% of what I have acquired came from those sources. The other 90%, and I'm talking about a substantial collection...all ebay. I'm not sure as to your bias against ebay as there are some good deals to be found there, and if you persevere long enough, even the very rare stuff eventually shows up. And if you balk at some of the prices, remember this important point, the price will only continue to rise making that item even more dear in the future. Here are just a few of the great deals I have found on ebay, shipping included: 4.2" mortar round; $150.00usd here in Texas...ebay; $45.00 Unissued 1942 Canadian Circular tent, c/w pegs; $485.00 Unissued Telescope, sighting #22C Mk II; $15.00 Stereoscopic viewer and case for maps, photos; $12.00 Unissued Engineer's saw and leather case; $35.00 Several 2" mortar rounds $45-$95 in Texas...ebay; $25-50 This is but a tiny part of all I have purchased from ebay over the years. I'm not a wealthy man, just a working stiff so I make sure I get the best deal possible. I bid a lot on ebay but I only win about 10% of the time as I won't exceed my price limit. I don't have a lot of Canadian kit for sale as I use all that I have to load into my CMP to make it look authentic, but if there was something specific you needed and I had it, we might be able to make a deal. P.S. you are aware of the differences between Canadian and British Battle dress, correct? Good luck, Derek.
