the second photo was taken in an old shed that had been a paint shop,it leaked something bad,but was all i could get and was only 100yds from the beach,so you can imagine the salt air on steel!
anyway the truck at the stage seen here had the motor and gearbox and the radiator done
the correct cab(1942) top and back fitted,as you may notice the cab( in the photo under the tree) has sharp rear roof corners,also a small back window fitted,this was known here in nz as a korean cab.
refitted by nz army for the korean conflict around 1950


the next photo is where the truck is now,in a dry barn with concrete floor,this is where it gets interesting.
this is the second f30,the reason being that the first had an undersealed chassis that was rough and the cost of sandblasting was more than the second truck,with a very clean chassis and 20,000 miles on the speedo, but no motor
or front engine cross member fitted.
it had had a fordson tractor engine fitted.more soon, ken.
