Now i believe this Chev once belonged to John Marchant a avid collector of all things CMP in the past she is fitted with Garwood wrecking gear

Thanks for the nice pictures, Les.

John Marchant's Chevrolet C60S Wrecker is now owned by Jon Newbold. He bought it as it is the very same truck his father used to drive. It has now been restored and is still working for a living.

However, comparing pictures I think it is a different truck from the one in your picture.

Les,

This one was not John's, it is from Norway and looks to be taken at one of the MVT D-Day shows at Southsea, possibly 1994.

Default cmp I.D

OK gang, following my failure to identify the owner of the cmp wrecker heres a chance to help me identify the owners of the following CMPs. As most have guessed by now when at a rally field i am a bit of a snap happy chappie and seldom ask the questions we should all be seeking so lets see if we can find some awnsers, keep in mind that the photos are from a 30plus year time span and ownership may have changed if not once many times

Hi Les, is this not a Holmes twin boom that you put on the forum? Also I do not see the spare wheel.

Les,

The wooden body 3 ton GS is a Chev, ex-Danish Army. It is local to us, Les, the owner, Martin, has had it for over 20 years and it is well travelled. I think it is off a Q plate now though.

Great find Paul, I saw the video of its first drive on FB. Looks like a straightforward project.

Hello Paul,

MLU Forum has been around for 20+ years, and although we are very social on here ( ), this is not a social media app like FaceBook, Instagram, Twitter, WHY... I did open an account on FB (https://www.facebook.com/groups/MapleLeafUpForum/) a couple of years ago as someone else wanted to highjack MLU on there and mimick what we are doing here.

But this internet forum and the MLU FB group are two separate things. One can post on both media, or choose to stick on either one as he/she likes.

Hope this helps,
Hanno
