that's a great looking welbike. i wouldn't worry about a little smoke coming from a 2 cycle engine, i've had numerous dirt bikes over the years, and they all smoked. if i were you i'd try and locate some spare crank seals for that excelsior engine. with the two stroke cycle, the crank case plays a vital role in the whole process. the seals tend to dry up and crack with age which allows the intake to escape rather than to travel up the transfer ports to the top end. bad seals also allows for unfiltered, outside air to be sucked in during the up stroke which can lead to all kinds of problems. one other thing, use only quality two stroke oil.....this might sound nuts, but if the oil smells like ammonia.....don't buy it.
