Hello Kurtis,
I rather think that these boxes are food rations or just another sort of box used for stowage of crew items. Storage room was always a hot item in a reconaissance regiment as they had to be self-supporting for a couple of days during their missions. Also, the boxes are marked in a similar way as the Staghounds were, in this case B-Squadron-Headquarters,vehicle #3, which might indicate that these boxes had to remain with that vehicle. The Canadian made .30 ammo boxes look very different from the ones on the Blankenberge photo. I have a Canadian .30 cal box in its original color. I'll post a photo from it as soon as possible, I have it stored somewhere else. Best regards, Marco
