| Armitice day in NZ

This weekend Armitice was once again commemorated in a small North Island town called Cambridge. who's sister Le Quesnoy in France was liberated by the 3rd New Zealand Rifle Brigade in 1918. Its a 2 day affair with activities ranging from a victory dance, militaria market, MV parade, and re-enactments groups which are a real crowd pleaser, each year this event is becoming larger, it was good to see so many varieties of vehicles from horse to the latest imported tracked armour. So heres a few pics for those interested...

: Thanks for the update on what appears to be a great way to draw attention of Remembrance Day. Was the M113 for sale, or had it just been bought? |

| m113

Hi tony, I'm not sure who brought the m113 along but it is one of the many that your contact has brought and was displaying 4 sale signs. I must admit I'd prefer to take the wife shopping in one of these instead !

Dave Ellery: An international news shot, seen here near Toronto Canada, showed a naval vessel, off the shores of NZ, being blown up. Is there anything of historical importance about this event?

@Jon I've been travelling around NZ and saw the F69 in Wellington Harbor before she was sunked. She's now a dive wreck. "The former HMNZS Wellington (F69), a Batch 3 Leander Class Frigate, will this Sunday become a living reef off the coast of Wellington, the capital and most vibrant city in New Zealand!" More infos on F69 Greetings from Christchurch NZ Chris

| Armistice Day

For a small town it is quite an impressive display of heavy duty hardware.

Wellington is the capital of New Zealand, and co-incidentally the Australian ship HMAS Canberra (named after the capital of Australia) has also just been decommissioned and is planned to be sunk off the East Coast as a diving attraction.

Hi Tony, The M113 was on loan from the army museum waiouru! I don't think they will be to happy if they find out there best apc is for sale! Not a good move for others who may wish to "loan" vehicles in the future. Brent Delaney.
