Max, I know a fellow who is staying here in my town from NZ.
He has had a heck of a time maintaining his stay. For the last while, he has had to make the journey back home a couple times per year and stay there for a certain time in order to have his visa granted. Pretty bad as far as I'm concerned as he is definately more Canadian than most of the newcomers here. I should also mention that he has his own money, being retired from sheep farming and has family who maintains his holdings back home. He doesn't cost our gov't one red cent.
I believe, that as in the amalgamated European Union, that us folks from the Colonies should be able to travel, work and live freely amongst our own. Inconceivable how a Pakistani can come over no problem but a mate from Oz or NZ gets the run around...
