hi Bryan, thanks for that, i thought the pictures were familiar but couldn't remember where I had seen them. I have a book called 'Task Tremendous' that details Chilwells war record, but I couldn't find your pictures in it.... now I know why. It has some fabulous adverts in it like for the carrier production lines at Wolseley...

I am alwys keen to hear of other 'war production' books for motor and related manufacturers.

kind regards

nick
Nick I have a couple of war production books which may be of some interest if you haven't come across them before.
1. Ford at War by Hilary St. George Saunders (1946, with lovely hand drawn illustrations and paintings)
2.An Account of Our Stewardship by WJ Seymour (Wartime story of Vauxhall Motors Ltd, Luton.)
3. British War Production 1939-1945 a record compiled by The Times (1945, covers everything including commonwealth input)

Let me know if you need copies of anything in particular.

Nigel
