Thornycroft KE/SC6 artillery tractor.
1) One example was ordered by the War Office ( Delivery data - 18.12.1933 ). 2) 12 vehicles were purchased by the Argentine Army on 17.7.1936. These vehicles differed from the original model in their wheel rims and mesh on the radiator grille. The mesh probably served as protection from insects or tall grass seeds. 3,4) Despite its small numbers, this truck was mentioned in the British and French press. |

This is an earlier expedition with GUY "Roadless" trucks with removable tracks. He did half the expedition in the desert with the tracks on but found they were too slow so refitted the wheels.

1-4. Thornycroft KE/SC6 for the Argentine Army. Some of the vehicles were used as artillery tractors and were equipped with a winch. The winch drum is clearly visible in the first photo.
5. This model was also used as a self-propelled anti-aircraft gun. |

Photo caption: "Thornycroft Diesel 3-Ton."
I found only one LE-series diesel truck in the Thornycroft vehicle registers. It's an LE/DC4, purchased by the War Office in a single unit on November 15, 1935. |

Thornycroft for the Norwegian Army Motor Corps (Hærens Automobilkorps). Based on the shape of the headlight bracket, I'm guessing this is the A5/YB6 Normal Control model. I was unable to find any data on the supply of these vehicles to Norway.
