I am the seller and my dad was in signals. It makes sense that he heard about the disposal of them first."

I have a British made one of these in the UK and have seen them around for sale from time to time. Mine is 1940 dated iirc.

I have seen them described as Officer's tents and Wireless Tents.

Not sure the official designation though.
